The first HOLE PICS took place at a now defunct nightlife venue, The Vault, with an ensemble of six performance artists. It grew from there, to a church in Chelsea, to a Brooklyn community garden, and then to the queer nightclub 3 Dollar Bill, consistently pulling sold-out audiences of hundreds to several events a year.

Founder and lead artist MTHR TRSA crafts an unstoppable tour-de-force every time, tapping artists from every corner of New York’s wildly varied performance art scenes to craft one-of-a-kind avant-pop performances that transform every space from which they ooze. Heart-felt lip-synchs, satirical monologues, intimate play scenes, and intentionally disorienting train-wrecks of emotional discharge peppered a night of unapologetic queer revelry.

This 5 Year Analversary marked 5 years of HOLE PICS and TRSA’s birthday. We celebrated each other and our fearless leader the best way we know how: by giving shows (and screaming into the void).

This production included guest spots from HOLE PICS alumni, each artist talking about their memories from HOLE PICS over the years. The show included performances from familiar and new faces, assembling a dynamic ensemble performance of non-stop bombastic energy and ferocious queer trans ecstasy.
