wings broken, flesh defeathered, Lucifer undone, a rib given and a rib gone, paradise loved before paradise lost, et concepit de spiritu sancto, and again the angelus tolls…
Sound as feeling pierces through assumed bounds as new bones tear through the back of a bloody bird. Angel’s wings made of raven’s feathers beat with synthetic tones and moans grow as quickly as they break.
ANGELUS is a performance of devotion to beauty, body, and sound. Too beautiful to be gazed upon, too terrible to be loved without fear, angels are divine monsters. In this temporary world of sonorous scales and pulsing vamps the body is a gorgeous monstrosity and sex its beautiful disaster. ANGELUS is a canticle where piano and voice dance with movement and light in a cry between life and death.
